Easy mistake to make? Microsoft has always said that it has no intention of making Windows 11, at least not anytime soon. But an online retailer actually put the OS up for preorder.

Perhaps this online store had it confused with Windows 10X?

Microsoft is currently putting all its weight behind this new variant of the its operating platform. At the same time, the company keeps updating the mainline Windows 10 with new features and updates, pretty much all around the year when you consider the improvements that are rolled out.

However, according to this report, the next major version of Windows is just around the corner!

Or was.

A website called SoftwareKeep that is a certified partner of Microsoft seems to be in on some juicy inside details that we are blissfully unaware of.

The company believes that Microsoft is working on Windows 11, and apparently the software titan plans to spill the beans on July 1. This new operating system will also be released by the end of the month, a support agent at the online store confirmed.

He also added that he was 100% positive that Windows 11 will be announced, and he had this intelligence from the content department who got the specifics directly from Microsoft.

Yeah, right.

Anyway, the long and short of it is that after the chat, the retailer apologized, sent an email regarding the misinformation from the product listing, which has now been removed.

Peace has, once again, returned to the valley!
