First Surface Laptop 4 specifications leak

Microsoft launched the Surface Pro 7+ not too long ago, a device specifically aimed at businesses. And now, the technology giant is gearing up for another important release.

Coming in spring, it is the highly anticipated Surface Laptop 4 that is expected to come with major upgrades under the hood. And while bits of information about this machine have been making their way out in recent months, we have our first substantial hardware disclosure.

And well, there is nothing outside the solar system in this new machine — it just is packed with some of the finest computing hardware available right now.

This report from WinFuture provides us with an early look at the CPU lineup that Microsoft has selected for the Surface Pro 4. If the leak is accurate, then the device is about to get a substantial upgrade.

First up, we have confirmation that the Surface Laptop 4 would continue to be offered in two versions, one with a 13-inch screen size and another 15-inch. Just like the current model. And both would be available with Intel and AMD chips.

In the Intel camp we have Intel Core i5-1145G7 and Intel Core i7-1185G7 processors, so no Core i3 variant it seems. The top of the range configuration is said to feature no less than 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

AMD side has Microsoft going with AMD Ryzen 5 4680U and AMD Ryzen 7 4980U, though this time the maximum amount of RAM available on the Surface Laptop 4 would be 16GB, with the limit in terms of storage capped at 512GB.

As said, nothing new under the sun.

Just the finest of parts.
